Photographs of lightning are fascinating in that the eye cannot retain all the detail that occurs in a burst of lightning. On this particular evening I had set up the 4x5 camera with a telephoto from a road on the South side of Spencer's Butte in Eugene. (A distance of about 30 miles from the storm). I made several time exposures most of which were to far away to make a good image. This burst happened so fast that I could not see how amazing it was until I developed the film. |
