Knowing the symmetrical arrangement of the Three Sisters Mountains from my earlier photograph taken from the Old Mckenzie Pass (Ref# 77 1772), I set out to find a view from a higher vantage point. From the fire lookout on top of Iron Mountain (off Santiam Pass) I could see just the summits of the Sisters but not the elevations below. From Iron Mountain I visualized what hills blocked the view and set out over very rough fire roads until I found my view. Several years later I returned to find all the firs had grown high enough to obstruct this view.
