I am often asked where this photo was taken from and I enjoy answering "Mt. Cessna". In truth it was taken from a Cessna airplane flying approximately over Cultus Lake in Central Oregon. I purposely wanted to fly at about 10,000 feet so all the major peaks would be closely aligned. Mt. St. Helens with a post eruption elevation of 8,365' is behind Mt Hood and not visable.
