The best sunsets over the Pacific are often in winter. Fog banks often persist off the coastline from late Spring into early Fall. I made a decision to try for a sunset from this location later in the day than I wanted to . . but the forecast was favorable. I knew the exact location I wanted to be from several previous visits. The drive to Bandon from Eugene is about three hours and sunset in winter is a little after 4 pm. I literally arrived with just enough time to take about three exposures before the sun vanished below the horizon.
